Dates: February 17 – 21, 2026
For five nights only, the historic crypts and the grand nave of St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square will be untethered from Earth.
Following their sold-out 2025 run, the award-winning artistic collaboration Luxmuralis returns with SPACE a multi-sensory light and sound installation that projects the universe onto the church’s architecture.
The Experience: Walking Through the Stars
This is not a seated show; it is an “expedition.” Visitors enter through the crypt, where the 18th-century stone walls are dissolved by projections of galactic nebulae and the crackling sounds of deep-space radio waves.
The Nave: The centerpiece features high-definition NASA imagery mapped onto the ceiling, creating the illusion that the church roof has been removed to reveal the stars.
The Soundtrack: A bespoke cinematic score by David Harper that uses the church’s unique acoustics to create a feeling of total weightlessness.
Why It’s different
While London is currently flooded with “Immersive” experiences, SPACE stands out because of the contrast between the ancient spiritual setting and the infinite, scientific vastness of the universe.
It’s a meditative, awe-inspiring experience that avoids the “Instagram-trap” cliches of other digital art shows.
