Transport for London (TFL) has officially activated the “Blue Zone” expansion for March 2026. This requires all vehicles in the Ultra-Central zone to be zero-emission between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
According to TFL, the expansion has already reduced nitrogen dioxide levels by 15% in the West End.
The Greater London Authority (GLA) notes that visitors should check their vehicle status via the TFL portal before entering W1 or WC1. The GLA highlights that “Hydrogen-taxis” are now the only permitted non-private vehicles in the zone.
