If you want to escape the busy city for a day, Hampton Court Palace is the perfect trip. Located right on the edge of the River Thames, this was the famous home of King Henry VIII. It is completely packed with history, but it is set up to be incredibly fun and easy to explore.
You can walk through the giant Tudor kitchens where they used to roast whole deer, explore the beautiful King’s apartments, and walk through acres of stunning gardens. The absolute best part for kids (and adults!) is the famous Magic Garden playground and the giant outdoor hedge maze. It is a wonderful, peaceful place that the whole family will remember.
